THE WRITE FESTIVAL, SEPTEMBER 2021

“It took nearly two years for us to finally get Amanda Owen to the Word in South Shields, but it was well worth the wait. Amanda held the audience in the palm of her hand as she entertained them with tales from the farm. Her stories were inspirational and totally engaging, delivered with humour throughout. Amanda took time to answer any questions that were asked in a no holds barred Q and A. Our audience loved meeting Amanda and want to know when she will visit again.”

I want to say how much I enjoyed Amanda last night and what an excellent presenter you have become! Your questions were interesting, relevant and often funny too. Obviously very well prepared. Well done you!

Please will you convey my thanks to Jen Whitworth for organising the talk by Amanda Owen last night? It was a privilege to see and hear her for ninety minutes unedited by producers and directors.

Amanda gave us an amazing and entertaining session on Zoom for our members. She was engaging and so relaxed in her farmhouse with a lovely fire in the background having already had a full on morning with drama all the way..... Amanda has a unique and heart warming view of life - time listening to her is never wasted.

We all left the session inspired and smiling and completely overwhelmed by her simple but obviously very happy way of living at Ravenseat. Do not miss the opportunity to attend a session whether live or via an online platform - you will not be disappointed!

“On behalf of Tenbury Agricultural Society, I want to thank you so much for entertaining us all. So interesting to hear about your life, family and adventures. We have had fantastic comments from so many that came to see and hear you. You were amazing with all the children that were there, a true heroine in their eyes. The atmosphere was electric and the evening will be talked about for a very long time to come.” – Tenbury Agricultural Society

“Amanda’s talk was brilliant! Our audience were so pleased. It was particularly lovely that Amanda took the time to meet everyone there, it really made the event more special and personal for people.” – Saffron Hall

“A brilliant sell out evening with Amanda Owen was held in Ayton Village Hall near Scarborough. Despite any Covid worries people were happy to not miss this opportunity to hear Amanda talk. She was generous of her time despite having a long journey after leaving us and her talk was both insightful and funny. It couldn't have been a better pick me up after all the recent doom and gloom.” – Pat Almond Memorial Lecture

“What a cracking time we all had on Saturday afternoon - the town hasn't quite quietened down yet! Our busy High Street store had a succession of very happy folk popping in after the show - and still more every day this week just to tell us how much they'd been cheered up by Amanda's visit. I feel the same, having worked with many festival guests the lady is definitely right up there with the best. I've also been stopped in the street by people wanting me to pass my thanks on to Amanda for coming to see us... can you guess by this that it was a successful afternoon?” – Wimborne Festival

“The event went really well. Everyone loved it and were really appreciative of the time Amanda spent answering questions and then chatting as she signed books and calendars. She was so natural and funny in her responses and made everyone feel at ease - as if nothing was too much bother. All in all a very successful event for us and we hope Amanda enjoyed her foray into deepest darkest Wiltshire!” – Westbury Festival

“Amanda was brilliant, absolutely brilliant: standing out and being “the star” when it was right, and being natural and engaging with people when that was right. She was very well received wherever she went; she did exactly what I hoped she would, without being asked or instructed; and went along very nicely and graciously with all the requests to talk to her. Her popularity with those attending will have gone up hugely….as, I have to say, has mine: reflected, glory, thank you very much.” – Sheep Drive

“Yesterday’s Derby WI event was a great success. Amanda was a brilliant speaker, all our members loved her. Not sure what time Amanda left the venue because she had such a long queue of ladies waiting to have their books signed and also taking pictures with her. I would definitely recommend Amanda to other Federations.” – Derby WI

“Amanda very kindly agreed to a talk with the year 7 pupils of her old school, Newsome Academy. We'd wanted her to talk about aspiration, and communicate to our pupils that anything is possible if they work hard and believe in themselves. Amanda definitely provided this, the pupils were so engaged with her talk and interested in her story. There was a real buzz in the school after she left- you could tell she'd inspired them to think about their own goals and dreams.

"Amanda was approachable and down to earth, making the pupils feel valued and showing genuine interest in their questions and comments. It was clear that she cared about making a positive impact on them, and that this was a higher priority for her than self-promotion or book sales. It was a real pleasure to meet her.” - Newsome Academy.

"The event was a real success. Amanda was very well received and drew the biggest crowd of the day in our Country Theatre. She was extremely entertaining. People loved meeting her and she spent time signing books and chatting which went down well. A Yorkshire lass had a great response from a Lancashire crowd!!!” - Great Eccleston Agricultural Show

"Amanda brought a breath of fresh Yorkshire air to the NEC when she paid a visit to BETA International to tell us about her extraordinary life as a shepherdess. We found her totally captivating and thoroughly entertaining. Amanda is a talented storyteller, the recaller of memories in the most minute detail and a master of anecdotes, which tumble thick and fast in a heady mix of the serious and absolutely hilarious. The show’s visitors and exhibitors – and fellow celebrity guests – all fell under her spell." - British Equestrian Trade Association

"We had a great time at Countryside Live with Amanda, big crowds for her Q&A and a huge amount of people for the book signing and photo opportunity. Amanda was fantastic, her Q&A session was really well received and everyone I spoke to found her really inspirational to listen to." - Countryside Live

"Amanda was extremely down to earth and made not only the guests but the staff feel at ease during the question and answers session. All of the guests remarked on how inspirational she is to listen to and following on from the event we had numerous guests email us to thank us personally for such a lovely afternoon. The communication between yourselves was always timely and helpful - a wonderful event all round. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Amanda following the release of her third book!" - Coniston Hotel

She was aspirational yet approachable with a very natural presence on stage that held the audience captivated. "Thanks for organising this event. It was the first time I had organised something on this scale but it turned out to be a great success and a great fundraiser too. The people at the Memorial Hall said it was the first time they had seen the place so full for about 50 years. It was a memorable evening and the feedback I have received has been fantastic. We'll definitely have Amanda back sometime in the future....she was a real hit!" - Criccieth Memorial Hall
